I help small-scale, mission-driven food businesses amplify their online presence to boost their real-world impact. Fun facts about me: I’m happiest when I’m wearing ten different hats. I believe in laughter as medicine and that you can never eat too many strawberries. If given the opportunity, I would gladly live off nothing but spaghetti and meatballs (and wine. Always wine).
I think each and every one of us can make a difference, and my favorite people are the ones who want to leave the world a little better than they found it.
You’ll most often find me working on sustainable food marketing, though I’ve also worked with tech startups, arts organizations, and educational institutions. I’ve spent a decade as a researcher on hunger issues, food access, nutrition assistance programs, and home cooking.
But after working for various nonprofits and small businesses (even getting my Master’s in Nonprofit Management and Public Administration from Cornell University), I started to see a real bummer of a pattern: The mission-driven companies and organizations I worked with were struggling because they got so caught up in their mission that they pushed the “business” part of their business aside.
And hey, it can be totally overwhelming to tackle branding and social media tasks when you’re busy building a business. (I have soooooo been there). But the key to success is building your mission-driven brand just like any major company would – thoughtfully, deliberately, and without cutting any corners.
Sound scary? Don’t worry – we’re in this together!
Over the past four years, I’ve developed marketing strategies that helped me work smarter – not harder – to build a successful food blog, start a nonprofit, and run marketing campaigns for some seriously cool companies and organizations.
You’re all about making a difference – and I’m here to help you streamline your marketing, branding, and online to-do lists so you can spend more time changing the world. Let’s get to work!
